I purchased this for my almost two year old niece for Christmas and while she loved it I was less than impressed. It doesn't have what I would consider "good" touch and feel items. First off, it's on the small and clunky side and like most board books the pages tend to cling together. My son had a simlair (but better made) touch and feel farm book and the rich textures of faux fur and bumpy wool made the pages easier to flip and the book much more fun for him. Several of the pages (and there aren't that many- I mean, I know it's meant for a small child, but still!) "touch and feel" portions are like shimmery papers like the ducks in the shimmery blue paper pond. It makes an okay gift, like maybe for a school swap or a distant relative/friend gift but I would look elsewhere for a better quality touch and feel farm animals book.

My daughter is 10 months and has loved touch and feel books since about 6 months. She's obsessed with them. However, I find this book to be lacking in the touch and feel department. Of the 12 pictures, 7 are just shiny paper for touching. I'm sorry, but wheat does not feel like shiny paper! Also, there are pages where the animal is normal, but then part of the scenery is shiny paper. If you have a picture of a duck on water, the duck should be fuzzy, rather than the water being shiny paper. I do like the pictures and think they are large and clear.

My baby was between 5 and 6 months when I ordered this book. My baby enjoyed the colorful pictures. The book is a small board book, so the places where the baby can touch are very small. There are 5 textures and 7 shiny objects for a total of 12 pages (duckling, piglet, bucket, cow, sheep, sheepdogs, tractor, wheat, lamb, chick, hen, and egg). I did like that there were sound words to associate with each object.I was hoping for more textures rather than shiny parts of the picture. That's why I only gave it 3 stars.

My 8-month-old loves two of the DK Touch and Feel books he received as Christmas presents, so I ordered him 4 more (including this one) this week. I thought getting the "new edition!" would be a good thing but I am very disappointed. There are not really very many items that are textured, and the textured areas are tiny--he barely notices them. The older editions we have are slightly larger books, seem to have larger "feely" areas and the "feely" parts are more fun. There were a lot in here that are not really textures, just different material (shiny or sparkly). I am actually going to take the loss on shipping these back because I was so disappointed and would rather get him books he will really get into.

I was expecting a lot more from these books but wasn't thrilled with what I received. The areas to "touch and feel" were very small in area and not very distinguishable for my infant. At 8-months my son loves books but doesn't seem to have any interest in these books no matter how I try to read them to him.

Very cute book!

Thought this book was a waste at first. Very few actual touch and feel pieces. Lots of shine to look at. But now kiddo loves the parts he can touch so hopefully he will like the parts that shine too. Misleading

Cute pictures however I was disappointed at the duplicate animals and all the pictures of non animals, I was trying to teach my daughter animal sounds with pics and this is not the book you want for that.
