I loved this book! I was very concerned about buying a car. Now I am well informed and prepared to stand my ground. Many of the key points have been mentioned by other auto experts. I do not feel so vulnerable now when I walk into the showroom. This book is must for anyone thinking about a car purchase. I am so glad it has become part of my auto purchasing research library. I now see all the things I did incorrectly last summer when I first glaced at some models. I also laugh about the crap that the saleperson said to me and the stupid questions he asked. I won't be visiting that dealership again. I'll drive by in my pre-owned Grand Am (baby #2 :)) and wave and I will laugh and thank Pique again.

Not that I'm a woman, but that the approach car dealers use towards women and their attitudes towards women are so uncalled for, so disrespectful and so not acceptable. I spent months listening to these and I still have many left to listen to. Found the built in cigarette advertising worth the price of the DVD alone! There were a few semi-garbled recordings but most sound just fine, These come from old tapes so what can one expect. Love the show and I'm sure that Jack Webb is happy to know that I've become a big fan of his in this past year!

For my Echo, I've been looking for good content, and this huge collection has some staying power. There are a few drawbacks:1. The Fatima cigarette commercials get annoying after awhile.2. Eventually the Fatima commercials went to Chesterfield commercials, just as annoying.3. After that Armed Forces Radio took over, no commercials, but a very long piece of Dragnet-theme music at the end.4. Varying levels of recording quality.It's a great show, though, and had some of the best writers and sound effects technicians of the era. The stories are crisp and based on real case files. The basis in reality avoids some of the problems in other long-running series. Just as in real-life, there can be some surprises. Many of the cases take weeks, months, or years to resolve.At the beginning of each episode is the set-up, where *You* are a policeman faced with some crime problem in homicide, bunco, fraud, robbery, or some other division. Then Joe Friday fills in and discusses the particulars of the case.It's been great for background listening.EDIT: They seem to be making an effort to remove the terrible Fatima commercials ... at least they did for the first 12 episodes. The episodes are even better with the commercials gone.

Iv'e been a fan of old time radio ever since I was in high schooll, and was thrilled when I discovered Old Time Radio Chrime. As a chrime buff I love reading about anything I can get my hands on. So, when I discovered this classic I knew I had to have it in my collection. I'm still listening to this wonderful eppisodic series, and love it. I love the characters and wthe chrime solving is wonderful. As for the sound quality what it is I think is wonderful.
