Man, how I initially hated this course. However, the textbook is very clear and offers good examples. I also recommend signing up for the online component (as our instructor required) because the additional practice and reference materials are actually helpful. If you're need a textbook to teach yourself accounting or to teach others, I think you do a self-guided course with this book.Downside, it's freaking huge and quite heavy. Not bookbag friendly. There are versions that are sold as binder sheets so you could just take the evening's assigned chapters to class.

I used this book for 2 accounting classes and as a reference for 2 others. It's well laid out, though wordy at times, and provides clear examples to follow, though I think it helps to have some accounting background (like a basic college accounting class) to get the most out of it. In fact, I like this textbook so much I finally just bought a used copy. Since I don't perform all the duties of an accountant every day, I use this a reference and resource book. I highly recommend this book for anyone who needs to a reference or a refresher for accounting practices (even my accounting professor keeps an extra copy in her business office for that purpose).

Great book! I am still in my managerial accounting class and find this book easy to guide students in understanding how important managerial accounting is in business. The supplemental guide WyleyPlus is highly recommended and compliments this book well! Will help students, who are not accounting experts, the guidance needed in understanding the course you are taking. Equations are easy to follow and there are tons of problems and examples to help a student through the chapters.

This was the textbook for my first-ever accounting class, and it surely did not disappoint. The chapters may be long and detailed, but they're easy to understand. There are plenty of charts and other visuals to help you understand the concepts more easily. And, there are plenty of exercises of all types at the end of each chapter, as well as exercise materials in the middle of chapters so you can instantly review and apply what you've just learned. The professor I had for my Principles of Accounting class was really great on his own, and this book was a great supplement, as reading the material independently helps me process it more easily.This is the Oakton Community College version of the book. I haven't seen other versions of this textbook before, so let me just summarize what the Oakton version looks like, in case it will work for you. The definitions for key terms are not at the end of the book, but rather at the end of every chapter. Managerial Accounting for Managers by Noreen, Brewer and Garrison is a completely engaging text book. This book takes you on a journey through Managerial Accounting (which is substantially different from financial accounting). Noreen has crafted a book which shines from the ranks of other dusty texts.One would have a difficult time reviewing this text without the mind being drawn to other books on the same subject. By comparison, Managerial Accounting for Managers is a wholly interesting story which conveys its meaning by involving the reader. Other text books are simply left behind in a heap of dry and dusty factoids. While previous texts on the same subject have presented the facts of Managerial Accounting, Noreen, Brewer and Garrison have woven this same topical information into an exciting narrative.I could go on and on at whatever length desired about the positive aspects of this book. You will enjoy it immensely as it provides not only teaching, not only entertainment, but a transporting experience to a higher plane.

If you're looking at this as a student, you probably have no choice. You have to buy this book or something very similar to pass your class. If you will have problem sets from the book, you have to have the latest edition because those problems change enough that they are able to force you to buy the latest edition.If you are a developer of a curriculum for accounting, this is a passable book. As was the prior edition, a passable book. Do the right thing for your students who might be paying as much for books now as they are for tuition -- use the earliest edition possible. You have spacefaring technology in an all out war with aliens. And your Fleet Marines are armed with only pistols and rifles that seemingly take forever to kill with. And the aliens have plasma blasters that can cut through almost anything.......nobody ever capture an alien and their weapons?But I am a student of the fine art of small arms use, manufacturing, and design so I'm always expecting these kinds of details.The story is entertaining and the character development is good. The author has a good grasp of the rules of order and command that are the backbone of all military units, and does a good job of illustrating the usual wrongheadedness and sometimes stupidity of the upper echelons of any command structure.And then at the end James, you committed a fatal error to my mind. That being the set up for new series of books. Far far too many authors feel the need to leave stories open-ended as a means to generate new sales from essentially sequels. Sometimes I feel it would be best to bring the story to a solid conclusion.

I got this book series because it was nine books series for $0.99. I knew nothing about the author or series but I got it taking a chance on it and I'm enjoying it so far. I've already read through 1 & 2 and I'm on book 3 now.It's an action science fiction book series with a character that is book out of place in the environment he's been put in but gifted to handle his own. Get the whole series. Each book reads like pieces of a long great action novel. This box set completes the whole story for me.

I enjoyed this series immensely, the story line was easy to follow and I found myself fully immersed to the extent that I had read through all the books quickly and found myself looking for more. I hope the Author has more to add to the story as it left me wondering where it could go next consequently wanting more.

I was pleasantly surprised by the series, fast-paced action, and best of all, no graphic sex or profanity that increasing numbers of writers feel is necessary for "realism". Some novels I've seen have more "F-bombs" dropped in them than a carpet-bombing attack from a B-52 bomber. I would have given it 5 stars except that the author killed a character in one of his books and then accidentally listed the same character in the next one. Oops......... Good series though, I'd recommend it.

This series was an engaging quick read. I enjoyed the characters, though some are not developed as fully as others, you have enough to buy into the main characters. I am grateful that though there is plenty of grit, there is no vulgarity. Alternate form word is used so I found no offensive languahe.Great read, loking forward to reading more from this author!

I have thoroughly enjoyed these books. I could hardly put them down. I am looking forward to reading the continuation of this series and recommend it to anyone that enjoys science fiction books.

Jack Forge and the team of Jame David Victor, author(s), were all new to me. I love military sci-fi and this proved to be a very worthwhile series. I blazed through the nine-volume box set pretty quickly. About a week or so I think. You will love it if you are a fan of this genre.

I have read most of the Biblical scholars that have earned the respect they have garnered due to their outstanding scholarship and predictions that prophesy give those who study its passages. Most people today have a foreboding gloom that our world is rushing into a reality that will be unlike any seen before. You see this in the movies that paint a devastating world where all of nature as well as mankind have been reduced to a devastation never seen, but predicted within the prophets of both the Old and New Testaments. As is shown in this book, events are leading to the end of the present age, but with that scenario on the horizon there is hope for a truly idyllic world ahead for those who chose to follow the prescription given in scriptures and so beautifully illustrated in this and other volumes by Mr. Salus. This is an excellent book. I have lost 20-lbs (from 167 - 147) and I just couldn't lose more than 5-lbs on low calorie diets. This one works and I'm never hungry because of the diet.I bought this book for a dear friend of mine who only reads in spanish. I don't know if she'll be able to do the diet or not because of tortillas and black beans (she has a husband and two children) but we'll see how she does :)
