Spectrum 24, is the art book for getting you out of the cultural rut. Several years ago I purchased Spectrum 21 while foraging in the local book store, after browsing the book my artistic perspective was not or ever will be the same.The Spectrum volumes (1 … 24) collects examples of contemporary art and packages the illustrations up into one slick reference per year. (Warning: placing all 24 volumes on a single book shelf may break it. The weight for each book is serious and as a collection, is formable.) Anyway, after browsing #21 I purchased the other 20 through Amazon.Spectrum 24 is another fitting physical book end to the collection. The format of the book follows last year, and has several sections which prefix the actual art. The artwork itself is organized into genres of expressive medium. Inside the genre are the visual styles and the visual techniques. There are those whose impact is immediate, and others which ultimately grow on you after several sessions with the book(s). Stuff that I thought was “crap” several years ago, doesn’t quite have the same intensity as a then, the more I browse, the less narrow my mind.I am satisfied by my favorite artists work reappearing volume to volume. These include: Donato Giancolo, Android Jones, Brom, Julie Bell, Terry Dodson, et al. (I generally avoid Brom’s work before bed, he is just too creepy. Wanna sleep good! Around noon time he is great!) Star Wars is well represented within, even with Luke Skywalker at Social Security age.New artists are presented (new in my case) like, Karla Ortiz, Laurie Lee Brom, Anna Dittmann, Bastien Lecouffe Deharme, and more. When these new artists appeal, you want to run to your laptop and search the net for more of their work. Anita Kunz even pokes fun at POTUS. Tim O’Brien has rendered an Afro-American Elvis, and a detailed work of Beyonce. There is sculpture from the completely new, to the implementation of a traditional figurine “The Tender box”.Techniques are well represented. For example, there is women’s hair. There is: Terry Dodson hair, Alphonse Mucha hair, Sho Murase hair. Same subject matter, just different implementations, with nearly every work being slightly different. A “gold mine” for doing art studies.Spectrum 24 has art for everyone, however, not everything for everyone. At 304 pages of art illustrations and art reference a very good purchase. Cannot wait for Spectrum 25, with the hopeful inclusion of work by Karol Bak.

Again a breath of fresh air from the world and its politics with this inclusive art compendium. Seriously the work in these projects blows my mind! Is Paul Sullivan's The Book of Life 2 poster true, or is it a pseudo teaser?! The more I look at Robina Cai's art the more I see my own gestural line work. Scott Gustafson's dogs are hilarious in his rendition of "The Emperor's New Clothes". I saw nods to Omar Rayyan's "Goblin Market" and Frank Who's Mae, Volume One. Both are currently on my bookshelf. I saw some artists as well I was more recently introdu ed to like Sean Andrew Murray (Kickstarter going on currently!) and Melissa Ebbe (A favorite from SYFY's Face Off!) Quite a few I'll have to explore more.

it's my first Spectrum book and I would recommend it topeople who are into modern fantasy art works (illustration to concept art to sculptures).The book showcases various styles of drawings (more fine artsy to game concepts)and the quality of the print, paper, binding are just on point for the price of $24.Considering the price, I am glad that I found this book.I highly recommend it to people.

Once again they have put together a great book of art that you can study and enjoy and keep track of new artists as they have the artists info.

It is full of information about the artist and many Many beautiful work of art. A MUST have for those to draw or like Art fanatsy.

Another outstanding collection of art for the Spectrum series. Well worth the price especially considering the various artists represented in the series.

The book feels like a catalog of hotels/restaurants/etc by location catered for travelers, not a real travel guide. It doesn't tell you about the neighborhoods or the districts at all. The book does an adequate job commenting on the experience of each attraction/hotel/restaurant it writes about, such as xxx hotel has no stairs, but the price range is really high, as a room costs $199 is by no means "$" in the cheapest range even in LA. It doesn't talk about where they are situated so you have no idea what kind of experience/environment you are looking at. The maps are hardly informative. And the book have very few pictures/photos. It doesn't provide any insight into the destination. And its recommendations in general are very boring.This travel guide is best for tourist who book hotels, restaurant, tours etc weeks in advance, have a great time there (especially spending most of the time in theme parks, national parks, and tours), and then move to the next item, and just simply don't care about the place that much.

The book is too large and hard to search through because a lot of it is devoted to reviewing hotels, restraunts and night clubs. All of these are easy to search for online and would be more up to date. Therefore there was not enough information for the places I was interested in. There are other books that do a better job.

I've purchased many Fodor's guides through the years for help in planning our vacations. They are always helpful, user friendly, and right on the money about their starred attractions. The sample itineraries are well paced and always appropriate. We've made the most of our vacation time because of the Fodor's guides & even seen some attractions we'd have otherwise missed without their recommendation. Purchasing a Fodor's guide is money well spent.

Excellent reference for sites, hotels and restaurants for not only northern CA but for central CA as well. We found it extremely useful for our trip through Santa Barbara all the way through SF and wine country, Yosemite and Sequoia Parks.

Present for my Daughter for our trip next spring for her Graduation!!!

We were able to book our hotel and map out everything we wanted to see while out west. I first checked out an older version from our public library and after only starting to read, knew I would be ordering this treasure to bring with us.

I just received my copy, but I have not yet used it while traveling.It looks like this 2007 edition is up to the standards of the classic green guides, dense with cultural information, printed on fine quality paper, and in a wonderful format easy for toting along and reading on a train.However, it's not vinyl bound as Amazon's listing states...it appears to be a paperback (which is what Michelin's own site admits to). It's just fine for traveling, but while other companies are moving to plasticized bindings that are water proof and wear well after being shoved into backpacks and backpockets, Michelin seems to have taken a small step back. Don't misundertand, the quality of binding is excellent, it would just be a little bit more excellent if the cover were really vinyl. Also, no map is included (as they did with green guides in the old days), but that's not a big loss given the many small but fine maps inside.This book is a pleasure to hold and read.

This travel book helped us out a lot when we traveled around Belgium and Luxembourg. We found places that were new to us.

The book arrived very quickly, in exellent condition, just like the new one! And the Michelen Green Guide series is the best travell guide , we enjoyed the book in out trip , our thanks to Amazon!

We have numerous guides for Belgium (because we live here) and there's nothing like the Michelin guide. It's the only one that really delves into the details of the architecture and history of the many fantastic buildings here, and it provides thoughtful and well-planned circuits for tourism. It's for the visitor who really wants to know the when-who-whys of what they see. (But you can't plan your light-hearted shopping visits with this book. You'll need a second guidebook for that.)Too bad they switched to these new 'updated' book covers. The old ones had more class!

However, you may end up skimming over some of the sections.

I have been on a low carb diet/paleo diet for 2 years but gain a bit of weight(I was not over-weighed), so I put myself on a ketogenic diet for the recent few months. I read some keto recipe books and started baking with stevia, erythritol and Lo Han extract, thinking that those should be better than honey or maple syrup because they are "lower in carbs". I had long been skeptical of these sweeteners but a large keto community was supporting these. So I think they should be fine and different from aspartame etc, as they are "natural". Oh, I have so wrong! Thanks Bruce Fife for this wake up call! After all, sugar was a "natural product" extracted and purified from sugar cane. And flour, rice are also "natural" from plant source. I was diagnosed with prediabetes years ago and introduced to stevia as a healthy and safe alternative to other sweeteners by my practitioner and used it for years. I started reading articles by Dr. Sarah Ballantyne ("The Paleo Mom") and other researchers questioning the safety and health of using stevia, and then my doctor said that it could be causing problems with my blood sugar and hormones and suggested I stop using it. Then I discovered The Stevia Deception and that confirmed my decision to quit. I didn't realize how addictive it was until I quit either. It was really helpful to read about Dr. Fife's experience with stevia and he includes a lot of research too. Thanks Dr. Fife, I appreciate the review copy too that made it possible to read and share this book with others.

So far I have only read the biology and chemistry sections and what they cover is a pretty good review. However, there are a lot of typos, some wrong information, and even missing information. For example, the biology section has no information on plants (except for sporophytes and gametophytes). There's even questions in the practice test at the end of the book where there is no information covered (What is the central metal ion in chlorophyll? No plant material in this book so this type of question wasn't covered). Despite this lack of completeness this book is extremely helpful. I have taken the DAT once already without using a book like this to study, and wasn't too happy with my score. After I finish studying with this book I know I'll feel more confident going into the test the 2nd time around.If you purchase this book, you'll need to study some more info on the internet for completeness. I would recommend looking up plant info, enzymes (section they have is very brief)(, and embryonic cell divisions) (radial symmetry). Also heat curves in chemistry weren't covered in the text (there is a question on them in the practice test in the back).

Great prep for the DAT exam, used this mainly for the practice tests inside. Wish they included more tests for practice.

Kaplan DAT is the easiest way to review important subjects for DAT exam .I have found it very helpful and advise the book to everyone that has not enough time to attend the DAT class .

I have used an OAT book for prep before, but it was getting kind of old, and this one is in color. Everything is about the same, but these pages are much better and in color. Also, they made a few theories and practices a bit clearer. I'm using this to study for the OAT. Although this doesn't have a physics section, I am using the physics section from my old OAT book.

I'm going to preface this by saying that I am a huge fan of Sarah J. Maas. Her writing is great. Her stories are intriguing and filled with adventure and danger and secrets and magic and friendship and love. They're highly entertaining, emotional, and grapple with big ideas. Are they without flaw? No. But I never thought I'd give a piece of her writing less than four stars.But here we are.I really wanted to love Frost & Starlight with the same boundless vigor that I give the original trilogy. But I just...didn't. To be honest, I'm weirded out. This is new territory for me.A Court of Frost and Starlight is a novella, clocking in at 229 pages, with a 20 page sneak peek at the next full-length book of the Court series, which has no set publication date at this time. From the beginning, it has been marketed as a bridge between the original trilogy and the spinoff series. Set in the Night Court over the Winter Solstice, it is, according to the jacket copy, a "tale of hope and promise" crammed with character development that will have a "far-reaching impact on the future of [the] court."I'm aware of this. I know there's only so much a writer can accomplish in 229 pages. I did not expect anything on the same level of her full-length novels. Part of me likes the domestic fanfiction-y vibe a majority of the book embraces. Emotionally-driven characters have been a staple and a strength of this series from the beginning. It's not a bad read.It's just not...a necessary read.Are there important plot elements introduced that lay groundwork for the spinoff series? Sure!Did they require an entire novella to set them up? Nope!I think my reaction is so lackluster because, to me, there wasn't anything major to react to. The most exciting part was the 20 page sneak peek, which made me shriek and hug things and wonder when the first spinoff novel would actually come out, because I want that book. That book is going to shake me up.But honestly? I was happy with where A Court of Wings & Ruin left everyone. I don't think I needed Frost & Starlight to hold my hand and lead me towards the next trilogy.Honestly, Frost & Starlight felt kind of like fan service. It gave us the highly anticipated wall scene (which my asexual ass skimmed through) but other than that?I acknowledge that there's no way to properly judge the success and relevance of Frost & Starlight as a bridge between series until we have Spinoff #1 in our hands. But I have this feeling that, down the road when both Court trilogies are on my shelf, Frost & Starlight will join Crown of Midnight in the "books that I skip over during rereads" category.Now, I still respect Sarah J. Maas, madly and wildly. She's a grown-ass writer who can make her own grown-ass choices about what she writes and what she chooses to publish. Am I mad that she published it? No. Am I judging other fans who really loved it? Hell no! It's not policy for me to shame anyone for liking what they like.But I would be doing myself and my brand a disservice by not reviewing honestly, so here we are.A Court of Frost & Starlight simmers with promises, but foreshadowed more than it actually delivered.

Being a fan of both TOG and ACOTAR, I was excited and looking forward to another great read. Sadly, I was deeply disappointed with this book. I understand wanting to bridge the new series (one I will definitely be reading), but this book felt pointless. Upon finishing the book, I felt like I had just read the most lengthy and long-winded prologue ever. I’m sorry, but even as a SJ fan I’d have to say skip this book and wait until the new series :-(

I would call spoiler alert, but really this is more like a list of non-spoilers. As in, here is a list (in no particular order) of subplots that are introduced in the second and third installments that are not resolved in this book. Lucien and Tamlin, still at odds. Lucien and Elain, still awkward. Elain and Azriel, no real advancement. Nesta and Cassian, further apart. Bryaxis, still at large. Nesta’s strangeness, about to be explored when Hybern’s Ravens attacked the library, unexplained and deepened. Mor, still alone and unfulfilled. Eris, whose character hinted previously as having some redemptive possibilities, untouched. Helion’s role as Lucien’s true father, also untouched. Treaty between Fae and human, unsettled. Jurian and Vassa, closer buddies now with Lucien, but again, no developments.No meat really in this book, and the reviews that mention its resemblance to fan fiction? Spot on. Lots of window dressing, like “here are all the pretty things we can buy with all our money and sumptuous gowns we can wear and seaside houses we can live in” ... really like playing dolls with familiar characters.Hugely disappointed to have waited a year for this; I’d have much preferred waiting two years and gotten a fourth installment of substance. If this was to satisfy a publisher’s quota, they truly did Ms. Maas and her fans a disservice.Finally, to pay $9 for a book that’s a third of the length of its predecessors is just adding insult to injury.

I love Maas and avidly devoure her writing. This is my favorite series and is near to my heart. But, This book and its lackluster storyline (if you want to call it as such) makes me wonder.I’ve never imagined giving any of Maas’ books under 4 stars. I genuinely feel like this was a feel good money grab. I’m not sure if that’s really all it was, because calling it a novella feels like a gross overstatement. Or, maybe Maas is simply being pressured to produce too much in too little time.Save yourself the money and find a copy of the 20 page preview for the next installment. I promise that’s worth sinking your teeth into.

I was so disappointed by this 4th installment of the quite enjoyable Court of Thorns and Roses saga. The whole book was nothing but the filler you’d expect to find between the action and suspense. We all know how Rhys and Feyre feel about each other, Nesta’s whining, Elian’s fragile innocence, Cassians brooding over Nesta, Lucien’s, well...I don’t know what’s up with Lucien, Etc, etc, etc. This book was thoroughly a waste of time and money.

An entertaining peek into the lives of characters we love. I'm a newcomer to this world, only discovering A Court of Thorns and Roses 2 months ago. Since then I've inhaled the original trilogy and devoured this novella in the last 24 hours. I thought I would be annoyed by multiple points of view (2 of them 1st person), however, it was thoroughly enjoyable and completely works as long as you remember what this novella/novelette is: a short story whose purpose is to lay the groundwork for some hopefully action-packed full-length novels to come. I feel like this also gave me some resolutions for Rhys and Feyre that the last book lacked (I won't spoil them for you, but it was satisfying to see for those who felt like those 2 had some more work to do). All in all, I'm glad I bought it and look forward to rereading all 4 books again!
