This is a great book and a terrific reference. Other than job experience, I used nothing but this book to prep for the first of the two exams, and I passed. The information, exercises, and sample tests are everything you need to pass the test. Learn them inside out and backward, and you'll pass.Not only is this great for passing the test, but Mr. Ghori explains things beautifully clearly and concisely. There were a variety of concepts that I sort of knew beforehand that after reading this book are crystal clear. I also had the previous version of this book, for RHEL5, and found that if I needed really good details on how to do something, I was more likely to find them in this book than anywhere else. I love knowing the details of how things work, and this book provides them.

I bought this boot shortly after signing up for both RHCSA training courses. I bought it to use as extra study after the course was over and I didn't have access to the RH labs. This book does a pretty good job at helping you create your own lab environment however it explains quite often that you need to use the Red Hat 7 DVD and references this DVD quite a bit. My copy didn't come with a DVD nor were there any online digital copies of the media that I have found. So to compensate this lack of DVD I downloaded CentOS 7 which is the open source free version of RH. You can get pretty much the same packages and software needed to mimic what is being said in the book except where you need to register with RHN or use the "DVD".After taking both courses and then attempting to read this book I can point out pretty significant differences in the course plan vs the books plan. The book seems dip a toe into red hat by teaching you basics of file modification, file tree layout and where everything is (which is consistent with the first part of the RHCSA I class). Then it jumps right into virtualization without teaching you anything networking. This tends to be a common theme in the book where you learn something basic in the multiple ways a task can be done. Then it shows you a bunch of deeper tasks that will be learned later but gives no explanation as to why you are running the more in depth command.I can see how the book is setting the basics of the OS then building the Virtualization on top which in my guess would be closer to the practical as you would have to do that in an early step but covering some of the other basics then expanding would be wiser for someone who is entering with minimal or zero knowledge.I have yet to take the exam however comparing this book to the outline and documentation of the RHCSA I and II classes its much more confusing. I have also noticed a few commands have errors in them or aren't properly laid out and cause errors.

This book is very well written. It does a great job of THOROUGHLY explaining concepts that System Engineers use every day. I have several other Linux books, but always find myself cross referencing other books as I read them, since they explain part of a concept but not the entire concept. This book is both an excellent study tool and reference guide for hands-on Linux administration work.

Very well written and well organisedI bought this book on the recommendation of a friend who just passed the RHCE exam. I must say it was money well spent. The author have the excellent grip on the subject material. He provides plenty of details on the commands with examples.At the end of each chapter there are a good number of practice labs. In each chapter he provide exam tips that can be life savers. He has divided the book in two parts one for RHCSA and the other for RHCE and as you go through the book your knowledge keeps on growing in a systematic way. Booth of these exams are not easy but if you go through the book and do all the labs you will pass them .I must give Mr Ghori five stars for this excellent work and i would recommend this book to any one who is serious about passing the Red hat exams .

This is an excellent book. I am working with several co-workers on mastering the changes from RHEL 5/6 to RHEL 7, and find this a great resource. While I may not take the RHCE, my staff will so I am working with them and my customers to master these changes. As we move forward and begin using RHEL 7/CentOS 7, we will need the skills outlined in this book.

I have been studying this book and find it to be concise. I will definitely be using it to prep for my exam. The author is super responsive if you have any questions regarding the subject material. I was questioning one of the emergency boot methods and sent him an email concerning it and within minutes I got a reply back! With a nice screen shot showing that it worked! The method did not work for me but it was close enough for me to figure out what was happening that was different in my system. I have found that tech manuals are not always perfect and this book is no exception but it is well written and has plenty of pertinent info and a very responsive author. Your mileage may vary as tech books are sometimes highly subjective but for me I can honestly say I'm definitely learning by using it and I recommend it.

Just passed the EX200 exam with the help of this book. I really enjoyed the layout (different sections for RHCSA and RHCE) and how the author explained each topic. I found his writing style very readable and was able to quickly digest the information. Great book but you'll need a lot of hands on experience too.

Comprehensive, easy to follow. I'm preparing for the RHCSA (and plan to take the RHCE shortly after), and this is one of two books I purchased. I recommend this book for anyone studying for the RHCSA/RHCE.

I just finished reading Hold Texas, Hold the Nation and recommend it to anyone who wants an easy-to-read explanation of the contrast between socialist progressive and conservative economic policies. It's a cautionary tale that describes the dangers of socialism to individual liberty. The book is well-researched and gives specific examples of the effects of the socialist polices found in California and other regions dominated by liberal office-holders. LTC West explains economic principles in straight-forward, easy to understand language.

Another GREAT read by Allen West! Allen has a writing style that makes what he is explaining very comprehensible for all. You don’t have to reside in Texas to understand, relate to and appreciate this book.

If you've ever heard Alan West speak then you're probably as big a fan as I am. This book is an in-depth look at what's going on in TX politics & what's coming at us in the future if we're not really careful. Excellent read for Conservatives who see the "Liberal" movement leading us closer & closer to a Socialist USA & what we need to be aware of. Alan West writes as eloquently as he speaks & this book shows it.

Col. West is an American patriot. This former war veteran and Congressman shares his common sense wisdom with readers about the state of our Republic. Makes a great gift too! Should be mandatory reading for students, voters and patriots!

As the bumper stickers say, Allen B. West is not a Texan but he got here as fast as he could. Lieutenant Colonel West represented a Florida district in the U.S. Congress after a twenty-two year career in the Army. He was the first African-American elected to congress from Florida since the 19th century and has continued to promote conservative and Republican ideals as a Fox News commentator and as a researcher for the Texas Public Policy Foundation and the Dallas-based National Center for Policy Analysis.West sets up Texas as an example for the rest of the country to follow in Hold Texas, Hold the Nation: Victory or Death. Texas's great strength, as one of the strongest economies in the nation and in the world, is a business-friendly, low regulation environment. "Texas benefits from low taxes, a fair legal system, and leaders who know how to close a deal with incentives." West gives example after example of businesses that have relocated from California, New York, and other locales, describing the various financial and practical motivations for their moves.West spends the most time comparing California and Texas. Both started with conservative, frontier self-determination. But now, while Texas leans pro-business, suspicious of federal government control, and promoting individual liberty, California has become a haven for centralized, top-down control, leading to deficits and hoards of people and businesses leaving the state, many to come to Texas.Texas's economic success and welcome mat for businesses and workers has led to those very people--Yankees and Californians--bringing along sets of non-Texan values. It's no coincidence that the Austin area, a hub for tech migrants from California, is one of the most liberal parts of the state. West calls on all Texans, whether descended from Texians or recent arrivals from blue states, to recognize and acknowledge what has made Texas an economic powerhouse and to resist the temptation to move Texas away from its conservative roots. (This means you, Beto, and your progressive socialist fans!)On a couple of points West's arguments do fall a little flat. His discussion of health care hits a lot of the right notes, but he's got some work to do on articulating his argument to people who are reliant on government health care. The disabled and elderly have few options, and most rely on the largess of various government agencies for their care. I know other fellow conservative Texans for whom this issue is life-or-death, and platitudes (as they see it) about a free market in health care don't cut it.West is calling on Texans to stand strong for conservative Texan principles. "Progressive socialists want to turn this great state blue, but I'm drawing the line in the sand. The conservative principles that have helped us succeed are worth fighting for." Take a long look at Texas, compare Texas to California, and take a stand with West. Let me just say that you will ugly cry over this--I started crying during the introduction! It looks like a children's book, but no way will you ever ever ever be able to read this to your kids without sobbing uncontrollably and scaring the bejezus out of them. LOL That being said, I LOVE this book, just as any parent who can get super-emotional about how quickly these babes are growing up can love a book. As soon as I read it, I ordered six more for my close mama friends and my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. All of them sobbed. My husband even encouraged his male employees to give it to their moms for Mother's Day too! It is altogether lovely and terrible, since it underlines and highlights how much of a blur childhood is for us parents...what a wonderfully hard and fast road it is.

My wife highly recommends this book to mothers of all kinds. She received it has a gift when we had our daughter and she immediately purchased three more to give away to others. The concept of the book is very unique and hits home for most mothers. It is something you never really think about, the last time you do certain things with your child and the impact those times will have on you as the parent. The illustrations are very nice but really it's the overall concept of the book that hits home and is hard to forget. It is a perfect gift for expecting and new mothers. We would most definitely highly recommend it to others.

This book left me a blubbering mess. I would say this is not a book for your child. This book is for the parents to read when we are feeling stressed, angry, overwhemlmed, etc with our children. It gives me an attitude adjustment that helps me enjoy every chaotic moment with my son. This book is a blessing.

It was written by a mom of six children, Karen Kingsbury. In the beginning of the book, the author writes a message of how the book was created. Everyone celebrates "a child's first steps, first word, first tooth" but there will never be moment when you will know it's your child's last. Time flies and we must appreciate the moment we have today especially with little ones because they grow up so quickly. The book will touch the heart of any mom that has sons.

I am in love with this book. You will need tissues nearby but as a mom it touches your heart and gently reminds you to treasure the time you have with your children. This book is one of my go to baby shower gifts

This is one of my all time favorite "children's" books. I put children's in quotes because it's just as much for parents as it is for their children. I used to read this book quite often to my children when they were little. They're too old for that now, and I sincerely miss those days. The pictures are wonderful but the message it sends to parents is one that should never be forgotten. Karen Kingsbury hit the mark with this book. It is, in my opinion, one of the best children's books ever written. I always give this book as a gift at baby showers. You definitely won't regret buying this book.

We love reading this book for both our 17 year old and 2 year old. Looking back and what was and looking ahead at what's to come, it's a great reminder that time goes by so quickly, they grow up fast and to cherish every moment and age.

Got this for my 6 year old son. I read it to him the other night and we were both in tears by the end. A real treasure and I'll be taking extra special care of it so I can give it to him when he goes off to college. Totally tugs at the heartstrings. Very well written and it is relatable for parents and kids alike.

OK so I maybe too old for doing this personality test but I've always known I'm in the wrong career field. In fact, I can't even call it a career- It's a job (grateful to have a job but still). Anyway, taking the test I now understand that my personality is polar opposite to my job. This doesn't mean I'm not capable of doing my job just that it takes more out of me than what I get back. I'm a square peg trying to fit in a round hole. Whether, I can change jobs this late in the game remains to be seen but I don't feel guilty about feeling this way anymore. I think anyone who is about to go off to college, feels unfulfilled at work, or just doesn't know what direction to go in would benefit from this book. I think I would have taken the advice and changed my major in college.

I purchased this book two years ago trying to get something for my brother, so that he could decide what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. I worked as a electronics technician in a factory after ten years in the Navy, and even had gotten a degree in computer database programming. I brought the book home over Thanksgiving, and started to read it one day because I was bored. I count that as was one of my luckiest moments ever.Two years later I had put aside enough money to go to college full-time and finish a degree I always wanted. I so strongly believe in what this book says, it's changed my life. I hated my job, and hated the prospect of programming databases (I had to pick a degree that was work related, so my job would help pay for it. In addition, there's a lot of databases in the world to work on so I was looking at job security). I always believe That You Do What You Have To Do To, that you sucked it up and worked at where you got paid. I was taking anti-depressants and just hoping I could work one more year, year after year. I was so stressed out about work that my jaw would clench when I slept and I would bite my tongue, over and over again.I read this book, and found out my personality type. I took the free online test to confirm what I thought. Then this book laid out for me exactly why I hated my job, and exactly why I would hate database programming. And it laid out what job I needed to be in, and why that job would make me happy.I'm scared every now and then, because it's something new and I'm middle-aged now, and I'm used to having a job. But taking a year out to get a degree in something that will make me happy for the rest of my life will be worth it. Oh, and I've been off anti-depressants for a year now, and Doing Great!This book won't say: "Mr. Smith, you need to work at an accounting firm for a food company in Dallas Texas." What it will say is: "Hey, you're the kind of person who loved working with numbers, and double-checking digits, here are several Fields of jobs for you, why you would like them, and why you wouldn't, and what other people who are like you are doing."I'm actually bringing this book to college for some of the younger kids. I'm ordering another just to make sure I still have one. I wish I had had it when I was going, twenty years ago, and maybe my life would be a lot different.If you are at all like me, get this book. Don't wonder what will make you happy, find it!

As a fairly recent college graduate, I found myself experiencing the dreaded quarter-life crisis...I knew I didn't like my job and really had no idea to fix it. Up until reading the book I just sort of had fantasies about other jobs that I didn't know much about and in general had no idea how to make a decision. I was frozen in fear both unhappy but fearful of making a bad career decision. I overheard a coworker talking about the book and made a mental note and ordered it on amazon shortly thereafter.Pros:1. MBTI description instead of test...a couple reviewers said this was a con. I absolutely disagree. The test relies on your own accounts of preferences/behavior and can be influenced by who you want to be and not who you actually are. It does not ensure an accurate result. The book warns about this and if you're honest with yourself the book is more than enough to get you to the right answer because it describes actual real-life behaviors that are easy to identify with. For example, I tested as a Judger in a Myers-Briggs test because it means you're organized and on top of things but after reading the book, I could not deny being a Perceiver after reading a recount of how both personalities react to a pile of mail. It really forced me to face reality and I found it to be much more accurate than a test!2. It gives you the ten most important things to people with your personality type. Its a great way to evaluate a new position you're considering and helps you refine the questions you need to ask your interviewer and yourself before you consider taking the job.3. It also gives suggestions of how to make your current job more enjoyable if you are not as fulfilled as you could be and do not have the ability to change positions.4. It gives you a list of jobs to consider and you can use this with another resource (such as the book discussed below or a career counselor) to whittle down to the jobs that are the best fit for all dimensions of you as a person (including values, skills etc).Cons:There are two dimensions in this book that are covered in others:1. In addition to your personality, there are a number of other dimensions that are important in finding a career that will last including, skills, values etc. that other books cover in a very comprehensive manner.2. It does not give very comprehensive advice about going about your job search as compared to other more comprehensive resources.I think this book is great to lead you in the right direction and help you learn about yourself and then once you have the ball rolling, a great resource as a supplement is The Pathfinder: How to Choose or Change Your Career for a Lifetime of Satisfaction and Success. This book is writen by a career counselor and takes the reader through the exercises he would do with his clients. It covers how to separate needs from wants, identifying your skillset and the sorts of jobs that would be a good match etc.It took me awhile after getting these two books and reading them, but in the next couple years I actually transitioned into a new career and I could not be more happy. After doing a job that is natural and comfortable to my personality I could not even imagine going back to my previous career! Really great read and I recommend it to anyone who has the fortune (or misfortune) of talking to me about careers!

Upon reading the book blurb for this one, I knew I just had to pre-order it – a beautiful island wedding where the guests are all staying at the same location, and the maid of honour is found dead – sold! And did it live up to my expectations – yes, yes, yes! I knew going in that it was going to be tamer than my usual crime read, leaning more towards contemporary drama, which it was, but I have to say it was a nice change of pace for me, and I really enjoyed it. The mystery plot, which I worried might be too obvious, wasn’t, and even when I thought I had worked it out, turns out I was wrong.There’s a lot of glamour and glitz, talk of décor, scenery, parties, outings, heaps of descriptions of food and drink (which all sounded delicious by the way) but again that was a given before I even opened the book, and was told in such an interesting, insightful way, that I even relished those parts. Nantucket Island sure does sound like a gorgeous place, and the author definitely did it justice.The story opens with the Chief of Police receiving a phone call that the maid of honour has been found floating in the ocean, on the morning of the wedding day, and covers the subsequent investigation that follows. There are also multiple flashbacks to the day before the wedding, as well as the two years leading up to the event. At times the story is pretty heartbreaking and tragic, so keep those tissues handy, but there’s also some amusing and touching moments that have you smiling.After perusing Elin Hilderbrand’s other books, it looks like this is the authors first mystery novel, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed she writes more in this vein, as she did an amazing job. Even though it’s winter here, and I read under the covers with the electric blanket, this would make an excellent summer beach read, as it’s easy to read, and follow.

This book was a complete waste of time and money. It was a travel advertisement for Nantucket and for foodies who visit Nantucket disguised as a whodunit. By the middle of the book, I frankly didn't care who did it. I finished it only in the hope that it would get better. It didn't.

I love Elin Hilderbrand and have read all her books. The Perfect Couple, in my opinion, is her best one yet. Nantucket is known to have many rich and famous residents. Many prestigious weddings have been held here. The Perfect Couple is Tag and Greer Winbury. They are planning a wedding for their son Benji to Celeste Otis. With their money they want to be sure everything is perfect. It may appear to be on the surface but cracks start to appear. Everyone has their secrets. Some secrets may crumble everything around them. There is much going on as the weddings draws closer and preparations are made. Just when you think you you know what will happen next, things change. The Winbury's may have lots of money but it doesn't buy any of them the happiness they are looking for. There are secrets upon secrets until someone dies. As the investigation continues the secrets begin to surface. Just when you think you know what happened and who did it there is a new twist. But in the end it all works out in the way it should. I loved every minute of this book and was sad for it to end. I would love for the author to write a sequel to this book and update us on Celeste, Shooter, Benji, Abby and Thomas and of course the perfect couple, Tag and Greer. What their lives may look like a year or two down the road. It could prove to be very interesting.

I was looking forward to this book. It is an easy summer read. However, the pieces of the story do not come together in the end. I don’t want to spoil the story as the author created an interesting plot around a wedding. The disappointment was there were so many ways to go to tie it all up . However I felt as if I was left midstream waiting for an epilogue or follow up chapters as to the final ending. You cannot give a Reader 400 pages of story line and not create an ending appropriate to this lengthy story!

I always look forward to Hilderbrand's summer books, they are usually a beach staple. This book ... I don't know. It seemed like 2 different things: half a story and then several different stories stitched together that fell flat. It is a supposed to be a whodunit, but the mystery part of the book is trite and unsatisfying -- not enough development in the characters to even make you care, and then, it ends up not really being a murder mystery after all. So, it was half a story as far as that goes. Then the different characters with secret lives and difficult decisions -- each of these could have been its' own story, but each was portrayed with superficial details, you wanted to know more about what happened to them, rather than just highlights thrown in now and then. Too many characters were underdeveloped and unlikeable. I felt a little cheated: both on the story and mystery. If the Perfect Couple was Romance and Mystery then they are a definite mismatch here.

I see this gimmick more and more - and hate it more and more, and in this book it reached the heights of stupidity. The author took a mediocre storyline with a fairly predictable ending and tried to spice it up by using each chapter to bounce around in time. No, not back to the distant past to explain how someone's childhood could create a murdering monster - just to bounce around in a year (EACH CHAPTER) from the murder to a week before to a month before, back to the murder again, back to a month before - and on and on and on. It was annoying, pointless and ruined the book for me. It added nothing to the book. The story itself was a mediocre plot line that added in a small twist of angst.The only good part was the actual writing - the author handles words well. But in the end, I prefer my mysteries to have a little more intrigue, and a storyline that doesn't bounce around so much that I get nauseous trying to keep up with the timeline.

Wow!! I just finished this book and disappointed is an understatement!! It was ok until I realized that the end was near... how can she finish this thing w/2% left so we can FINALLY see "Who done it??" YAWN!!! Seriously?? Talk about anticlimactic!!!
